Dar Loulema in Marrakesh is a beautifully restored, whitewashed riad offering Moroccan hospitality at its finest. It is bright and airy, with a pillared courtyard that has a balustrade around three sides and a small garden on an upper landing. This traditional courtyard serves as the central gathering place and leads to many public areas.
Each guest room has been decorated in a different style and the bathrooms are of a high standard, with a mixture of tadelakt and delicate tiling. Traditional Moroccan shapes and patterns adorn the arched doorways and etched walls. Small sitting areas offer privacy from the communal courtyard and outdoor seating. The Belem suite is the most dramatic, with two floors of polished hardwood and a private sea view terrace.
A brick-tiled dining room complete with fireplace provides a cosy ambiance however guests are welcome to have their breakfast...
One and a half hours by road from Marrakech, the mountain retreat of Kasbah due Toubkal offers incredible views of the High Atlas mountains and the summit of Jebel Toubkal. The Kasbah is some 20 minutes from the village of Imlil, and the final part of your journey must be made on foot through walnut groves. The Kasbah was built in the 1940s and all renovations were done carefully by hand. The Kasbah is run on ecological principles and encourages responsible tourism that respects local cultures and habitats.
Guests are met by some of the charming locals who have invaluable knowledge of the region. The en suite rooms and suites are rustically luxurious, all have been indivdually decorated and traditionally designed using natural materials and locally handcrafted furniture. Modern conveniences such as a cd player and tea and coffee making facilities are available in each room and of...
Just a short distance from the royal palace, Djemaa el Fna Square and the colourful souks, Les Jardins de la Médina is a former riad which was converted 15 years ago into a boutique hotel, adding modern touches in keeping with its 19th-century architecture. This historic residence has, over the years, welcomed distinguished guests such as Oum Kalthoum, Winston Churchill and Empress Farah Pahlavi. Today it continues to offer the same distinguished ambience, providing a tranquil oasis amid the buzz of the medina. The hotel has 36 rooms and suites which combine traditional character with the amenities of a modern hotel, all encircling a cool, verdant garden with 100-year-old palm, orange, and olive trees as well as an immense jacaranda tree. Facilities include a swimming pool, hammam and spa with masseur on hand. The restaurant serves a variety of Mediterranean and Moroccan...
Built on the site of an ancient fondouk, L'Heure Bleue Palais is a member of the Relais & Chateaux group, offering five-star comforts in one of the most prestigious addresses in Essaouira. Located at the edge of the Medina and in close proximity to the beach, L'Heure Bleue is not an ordinary riad. Like the town itself, it is very cosmopolitan and takes in influences from all around the world.
The 16 rooms are decorated in a colonial African style while the 19 suite decors reflect the history of this ancient Portuguese town. Portuguese design focuses on pastel and blue tones, English colonial décor includes engravings and drawings that recount the colony's history and Eastern styles are rich in gold and burgundy tones.
At the heart of the property is a lovely interior courtyard, decorated with an ornamental fountain. Unusual for a riad within the medina walls, the hotel features ...
