Travel to Qazvin, formerly an ancient capital of
the Persian empire, and see the glittering shrine
of Shahzadeh Hussain. Continue to Soltaniyeh
and its 14th-century dome. Continue to Zanjan
and stay at Grand Zanjan Hotel for 2 nights. (B)
This morning, travel to the Sassanian
archaeological site of Takht-e Soleyman, dating
back to the third century. Return to Zanjan to
visit Rakhtshur-Khaneh, a traditional public
laundry house. (B)
Drive to Hamadan, one of the oldest cities in
the world. Visit the Tomb of Esther museum and
Mordechai, a pilgrimage site for Jews. Continue
to the 12th-century Alavyan Tomb Tower and
Ganjnameh, ancient inscriptions carved into
the side of Alvand mountain. Overnight at Hotel
Travel to the Temple of Anahita and then on
to Bisotun to see the trilingual inscriptions
of Darius I, carved 4,000 feet high on the
mountain face. After lunch at leisure in
Kermanshah, visit the large rock reliefs at Taghe-
Bostan, depicting royal hunting scenes from
the era of the Sassanid empire. Overnight at

ancient bridge at Pol-e-Dokhtar and the ancient
water channels on the Dez river. Stay 2 nights at

covered bridges and the Armenian quarter and
the important Armenian cathedral of Vank.
Afternoon visit to the grand square of the
Naghsh-e-Jahan and Qeisarieh bazaar. (B)
Visit the magnificent Friday Mosque and
its magnificent display of Persian religious
architecture. Drive to the Chehel Sotoun palace
whose 20 wooden columns reflect in the water,
giving it the nickname of ‘the Palace of Forty
Columns’. Continue to the 17th-century Hasht
Behesht, the only mansion left in Isfahan. (B)
Return to Tehran, visiting Kashan en route to
see the beautiful Fin gardens and the former
merchant's house of Taba-Tabai. Overnight at

The large central courtyard is filled with flowers and fountains in the style of Safavid caravanserais, the public areas of the hotel have beautiful Persian decoration and paintings.
