Morning visit to the elaborate tombs in theValley of the Kings. Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut, an immense funerary shrine set beneath towering cliffs, and the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III on the West Bank. Sail onwards to Esna, passing through the Esna Lock before arriving in Edfu, where you will moor overnight. (B, L, D)
Early morning visit to the Temple of Horus in Edfu, one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt. Sail to KomOmbo this afternoon where you will visit the temples of Sobek, god of fertility, and Haroeris, the solar god.They display a unique double design with twin entrances and chambers. Continue sailing south to Aswan where you will moor overnight. (B, L, D)
Morning visit to the Aswan High Dam, the granite quarries and the Temple of Isis, a complex that was moved in its entirety to avoid the flooding when the dam was built. Afternoon cruise aboard a traditional felucca sailing boat passing the islands of Aswan and Elephantine Island, an old trading post. The cruise vessel will overnight in Aswan. (B, L, D)
Disembark this morning. Transfer to Aswan airport for a flight to Cairo. Overnight at the Cairo Pyramids Hotel. (B)
