The Palace on Wheels train offers an
opportunity to explore north-west India’s
most spectacular sights in the style of
the maharajas and maharanis. With 16 period carriages, the train
features lounges, two restaurant
carriages and double and twin-bed cabins
with en suite facilities, all furnished in
classic Rajput style. Starting in Delhi, the route takes in
the cities, forts, palaces and wildlife of
Rajasthan, culminating in a visit to the
majestic Taj Mahal.

Transfer to the Eros Hotel for 1 night. Afternoon
tour of Lutyen’s New Delhi. (N)
Morning at leisure. Afternoon transfer to the
station to board the Palace on Wheels for a
7-night journey. Dinner and evening departure for
Jaipur. (B, D)
Morning tour of Jaipur’s highlights including
Jantar Mantar astronomical observations site and
City Palace. Afternoon visit to the ancient capital
of Amber Fort. Return to the train for an evening
departure to the city of Sawai Madhopur. (B, L, D)
Early morning arrival in Sawai Madhopur, then
drive to Ranthambore for wildlife viewing. Late
morning departure for the hilltop fortress at
Chittorgarh including sound & light show. Return
to the train for dinner. (B, L, D)
Morning travel to Udaipur. Morning tour of the
City Palace and Crystal Gallery. Afternoon boat
ride on Lake Pichola and return to the train for an
overnight journey to Jaisalmer. (B, L, D)
Morning tour of Jaisalmer fort and its exquisite
havelis. After lunch aboard the train, visit the Sam
sand dunes for a short camel ride and afternoon
tea. Dinner in Jaisalmer before returning to the

Morning arrival in Jodhpur. Visit Jaswant Thada
cenotaph, Mehrangarh fort and the Umaid
Bhawan museum. In the afternoon there will be
some time at leisure before returning to the train
and departing for Bharatpur. (B, L, D)
Early morning visit to Bharatpur, one of the finest
bird sanctuaries in the world. Continue to Agra
to explore the majestic Taj Mahal and Agra fort.
Return to the train for the overnight journey to
Delhi. (B, L, D)
Morning arrival in Delhi. Disembark for a tour of
Old Delhi. Overnight at the Eros Hotel. (B)
Transfer to the airport and fly home. (B)
