Arrive and transfer to the Landis Hotel for 2
Full-day guided tour of Taipei, including the
National Palace Museum that displays a
multitude of treasures removed from the Chinese

Take the high-speed train to Hsinchu City. Stay
2 nights at the Ambassador Hotel Hsinchu. The
next day, enjoy a scenic ride along the Neiwan
line to the former mining town of Neiwan, where
you can sample traditional Hakka cuisine. (B, L)
Continue south on a high-speed train to Tainan
and stay at Tayih Landis Hotel for 2 nights. The
following day is at leisure to explore Taiwan’s
cultural capital, home to the Chihkan Towers and
the Confucian temple. (B)
Take a local train north-west to the city of Chiayi,
then change to the Alishan Mountain Railway.
This 3.5 -hour journey passes through the plains
between Beimen and Zhuqi, then begins to
climb slowly through the mountains via dramatic
