Begin the day from outside your hotel with a cruise around the harbour, launching from Clarke Quay. Continue with a drive through the Civic District, home to the Esplanade and the Merlion Park, and into the busy Chinatown area, stopping to sample some local food. After lunch, return to Singapore's streets by trishaw and explore the fascinating lanes of Little India, an area full of character and life and scented by joss sticks, jasmine and exotic spices. End the day at the legendary Raffles Hotel for either afternoon tea in the Tiffin Room or a Singapore Sling cocktail at the Long Bar. (B)
Spend your third day in Singapore exploring some of the city's lesser-visited sites.
Visit the Kampong Glam district, sometimes referred to as the Muslim quarter due to early settlers in the area. Drive to Changi Beach at the north-eastern tip of Singapore, a protected beach area that is home to the Changi Museum & Chapel, which commemorates the lives of Allied Forces prisoners of war who were held by the Japanese during the second world war.
