Located in the village of Jukkasjarvi, 200km inside the Arctic Circle, the iconic Ice Hotel is situated along the banks of the frozen Torne river, from which the mammoth blocks of ice used for its construction are cut. The Torne river ice is renowned for its clarity and purity, attracting artists every year eager to carve and design the new hotel, embellishing 80 ice rooms with stunning sculptures and designs. This 3-day itinerary includes a 2-night stay at the Ice Hotel, with one night sleeping in an ice room, the opportunity to experience the indigenous Sami culture of the area, husky sledging and a magical evening snowmobile safari in search of the northern lights.
Morning flight from London to Kiruna via Stockholm with SAS. You will be met and transferred from the airport to the Ice Hotel via husky sledge, an approximate journey time of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Pulled by 12 dogs, each sledge carries four passengers and a guide. Arrive and check in to the Ice Hotel, where your first night will be in a cold room. After check in, join a shared orientation tour of the hotel. (N)
This morning, you will visit a local Sami homestead for an insight into the everyday life and rich culture of the Sami people. You will have the opportunity to drive a reindeer sleigh and try traditional Sami food, prepared and served over a campfire. This evening, take a snowmobile excursion in search of the magical northern lights, including dinner served in a wilderness camp. During the excursion, your guide will explain some of the facts and myths surrounding this magical celestial phenomenon. Stay overnight in one of the Ice Hotel's warm rooms. (B, L, D)

Located in the small town of Jukkasjärvi, the Icehotel is rebuilt each year out of ice and snow. The hotel offers a mix of warm and cold accommodation allowing guests to experience a night sleeping at temperatures of -5 to -8 degrees Celsius. Sleeping bags are provided and, for a good night's sleep, it's recommended to sleep in thermal clothing.There are two restaurants offering a choice of rustic charm and gastronomic adventure with a modern twist. The Icehotel is open to the public between 10am and 6pm. This means guests sleeping cold get exclusive access to their rooms from 6pm, and wake-up call is around 7:30am. While you cannot book a specific suite, you can make a request.
