power struggles throughout its history
which have influenced its culture.
Travelling by train, visit the three main
Andalucían cities – Cordoba, Seville and
Granada. Cordoba is a city of Moorish
architecture, ancient palaces, and flowerfilled
courtyards. Seville is capital city
of the south and highlights include the
impressive cathedral and Alcazar Palace.
The final destination is Granada. Set
below the snow-capped peaks of the
Sierra Nevada, the city is dominated by
the exquisite Alhambra palace.

Morning flight from London to Madrid with
British Airways. Transfer to the station for the
train to Cordoba (approximately 2 hours). Stay
at the Hotel AC Cordoba by Marriott for 2 nights. This
evening there will be a welcome dinner. (D)
This morning, explore the old Jewish quarter
with your guide. This labyrinthine district
with narrow streets surrounds the Mezquita,
considered to be the grandest and most
exquisite mosque the Moors ever built. The
Mezquita has since been converted into a
Catholic cathedral but still retains the mosque’s
splendid halls, columns and arches with intricate
Moorish decoration. (B)
Morning at leisure. Early afternoon transfer
to the station for the train journey to Seville

Today, visit the magnificent 13th-century
Alhambra, the last Moorish stronghold of
Spain. One of the most amazing architectural
creations in the world and the greatest treasure
of Moorish Spain, the Alhambra sits on top of a
hill and has watched over the city for more than
seven centuries. This evening, there will be a
farewell dinner with a flamenco show. (B, D)

and fly to London with British Airways. (B)
