This morning, tour some of the highlights of St Petersburg including the city's main street, Nevsky Prospekt, the Admiralty buildings, the immense Kazan Cathedral, the glittering domes of the Church of Our Saviour on Spilled Blood and Anichkov Bridge. In the afternoon visit Peter and Paul Fortress, the original citadel and a museum. (B)
After breakfast, spend the morning admiring the art collections in the Hermitage museum, which houses an enormous array of treasures and artwork by great masters. Your guide will ensure that you see the best of the exhibits. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Today, travel to the town of Pushkin just outside St Petersburg for a guided tour of Catherine Palace. Marvel at the opulence of this immense rococo palace and visit the legendary Amber Room, which famously disappeared during the second world war and has only recently been reconstructed. (B)

Opened in 2009, the Radisson Sonya Hotel, St Petersburg is a design hotel with 173 rooms over 7 floors. The hotel was styled by Swedish design company, Stylt Trampoli AB to reflect the fiction of Russian author Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Upon entering the hotel's lobby, you will feel you are entering Dostoyevsky's own studio. Book shelves on one side contain no less than 80 copies of Crime & Punishment in different editions and languages, mixed with piles of manuscript paper. Each of the guest room doors feature a plaque with a quotation from his novels in Russian and English, while the writing desks are contemporary replicas of Dostoyevsky's own desk. The carpets in the room corridors are patterned with further text from the books, while the walls feature photos from specific landmarks in St. Petersburg named in the novels.
