Your guided tour of the
filming locations of Inspector Montalbano
starts with a visit to the fictional town of
Vigàta (Scicli) featuring Montalbano’s office
(Scicli town hall) and the police station
(Palazzo Iacono). Continue towards the
Marinella (Donnalucata) and the home of
the inspector (Punta Secca), which can only
be viewed from outside. After an optional
lunch at the seaside restaurant Enzo a Mare
(The Chalet), featured in the book, visit la
Mannara, the tuna fishery used in the series
(Fornace Penna). (B)
Morning drive inland
to Ragusa Ibla, which also doubles as the
fictional town of Vigàta, where many scenes
for the television series have been filmed,
such as on the steps leading to the Duomo
of San Giorgio and Santa Maria della Scala
Church. Optional lunch at the Trattoria San
Calogero (Restaurant La Rusticana) before
continuing to the Castello di Donnafugata,
the fictional house of local mafia boss
