The Hotel Reykjavik Natura first opened its door in 1964 as Hotel Loftleidir, located close to the domestic airport and revolving Pearlan restaurant. Newly named and renovated, the property now offers elegantly decorated rooms with modern Scandinavian decor and pine wood floors. The hotel's kitchen restaurant, located on the ground floor, serves a variety of Icelandic specialities with a focus on fresh organic produce, while the lounge provides comfortable sofas with a bar serving cocktails. The rooms come in a range of sizes and with varying designs, from simple but stylish to rooms inspired by Icelandic culture and nature.
Some rooms at this hotel overlook the domestic airport and, as a result, aeroplanes taking off and landing can sometimes be heard from the rooms during the day.
