This tour has been carefully designed to allow for plenty of opportunities to see the northern lights, a natural phenomenon often seen in northern latitudes from October to March. Take a 6-night cruise through Norway’s picturesque fjords to the Arctic Circle. Continue to Finnish Lapland for an overnight stay in a specially heated glass igloo and finish in Helsinki with a visit to the Estonian capital of Tallinn.

Fly from London (regional connections available) to Helsinki with Norwegian Airlines. Transfer to the Clarion Admiral Hotel (or similar) for 1 night. (N)
Morning at leisure. Afternoon tour of Bergen including visits to the fish markets and the old Hanseatic wharf at Brygge. Board the Hurtigruten vessel (Outside cabin) for a 6-night cruise. (B)
Navigate the skerries and islands further north before reaching Alesund, renowned for its beautiful art nouveau architecture. Leaving Alesund, head north towards Trondheim. (B, L, D)
Arrive early in the morning into Trondheim, with time to explore Norway’s first capital. Look out for the storehouses along the river built on wooden stilts. (B, L, D)
Cross the Arctic Circle and start looking out for the northern lights. On board, learn more about the ‘Aurora Borealis’ during a presentation. Later, enter the dramatic and narrow Raftsund and, if the weather and ice conditions allow, sail to the narrow entrance of Trollfjord. (B, L, D)
After a morning stop in Finnsnes, the ship continues to Tromso, the gateway to the Arctic, for a prolonged stay. After an exhilarating day in Tromso, continue northbound. The ship is now sailing into the area along the coast with the best chance of viewing the northern lights. (B, L, D)
Honningsvag is the nearest port to the North Cape, only 2,000 kilometres from the geographical North Pole. Continue to Kjollefjord where you may see the northern lights on a clear, starlit sky. (B, L, D)
Admire dramatic coastal vistas as you approach Kirkenes, where you will disembark the cruise. Take a short drive through Kirkenes and learn more about its history. There will be a quick stop at the Russian border, before continuing onwards to Finnish Lapland. Arrive to the small village of Inari and visit the SIIDA Sami museum. After the visit, continue to Saariselka and stay for 2 nights at the Santas Hotel Tunturi (or similar). (B, D)
Morning visit to a husky farm to learn about the life and training of these unique Arctic animals. (B, L, D)
Morning visit to Santa’s Village. Early afternoon drive to Sinetta. Stay overnight at the Arctic Snow Hotel & Igloos (or similar) and experience the true wonder of Finnish Lapland with a night in a glass igloo. (B, D)
Transfer to Rovaniemi. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore the town or participate in one of the optional excursions. Stay for 2 nights at the Sokos Hotel Vaakuna (or similar). (B, D)
Full day at leisure. (B)
Early morning transfer to the station this morning and board the train to the Finnish capital, Helsinki. Stay for 2 nights at the Holiday Inn City Centre (or similar). (B)
