Continue overland to Copan, set by a meandering river and surrounded by hills. Return to Guatemala and travel via Rio Dulce to the ancient city of Tikal, before concluding your journey by the white sandy beaches and turquoise Caribbean waters of Ambergris Caye in Belize.

Optional extensions include a stay in the Cayo District in Belize, where you can explore the forests, waterfalls and rivers, as well as remote Mayan archaeological sites such as Caracol.
Alternatively, end your stay in the Toledo district in southern Belize, among unspoiled rainforest and rivers, not far from the coast. Optional excursions here include visits to small archaeological sites and the Mayan and Garifuna communities of the Toledo district, or boat and snorkelling trips to the coast.
