Short tour of INBioparque, time permitting, before your flight to Puerto Jimenez. Transfer to El Remanso Lodge or Lapa Ríos*, set in a private nature reserve where the Pacific Ocean meets the Golfo Dulce. Stay for 3 nights. (B, D)

Fly to San José and transfer to Arenal. Stay for 2 nights at the Arenal Nayara Hotel & Gardens overlooking the volcano. Full day tour to Caño Negro, with a boat trip on the Rio Frio. The Trapp Family Hotel is a small family-run hotel located close to the entrance of the Monteverde Reserve.
