Arrive into Uluru, from where you will be driven to Uluru-Kata Tjuta
National Park. Learn about Tjukurpa, the history, knowledge and law
of the local Aboriginal people and their ancestors. Take a guided walk
through the spectacular domes of Kata Tjuta then continue to the Uluru
sunset viewing area for canapés and wine as the sun sets. Stay overnight
at Sails in the Desert hotel. (D)
Start the day with a view of the sun rise over Kata Tjuta and Uluru from a
prime dune-viewing area. After breakfast, join an indigenous guide and
translator for a walk around the base of Uluru and a visit to Mutitjulu
waterhole. A barbecue lunch will be provided at the Curtin Springs
Station followed by a stop at Kings Creek Station, the largest exporter of
camels in Australia. Continue to Kings Canyon and stay overnight at the
Kings Canyon Resort. This evening enjoy a four-course dinner under the

This morning take a 6-km walk along the rim of Kings Canyon as the sun
rises. Highlights include the domed ‘lost city’, Cotterill’s lookout and the
‘garden of Eden’. Continue off the beaten track to Henbury Meteorites
Conservation Reserve where 12 craters were formed when a meteor hit
the Earth 4,700 years ago. A further stop will be made at Rainbow Valley
to see the coloured layers in the sandstone cliffs before finishing at Alice
Springs. Stay 2 nights at Chifley Alice Springs Resort. (B, L, D)
Experience the geology and land formations of the West Macdonnell
Ranges, where the deep red sandstone formations contrast with the
green ferns and gum trees on the valley floor. Explore the ochre pits
and swim at Ellery Creek Big Hole. In the afternoon, visit the Royal
Flying Doctor Service. This evening dine alfresco on a three-course meal
including traditional bush food cooked in a bush oven. (B, L, D)
Visit the School of the Air and the Overland Telegraph Station before the
tour concludes in the late morning. (B)
