Kasaka River Lodge is located on the banks of the Zambezi river in the Chiawa Game Management area, only 4km by road from the Lower Zambezi National Park. This is the only stretch on the 2,700 kilometre course of the Zambezi river where national parks are to be found on both banks of the river: the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia and the famed Mana Pools World Heritage Site in Zimbabwe. The river extends the length of the property and there are breathtaking views over the water with frequent sightings of buffaloes, elephants, hippos and crocodiles. The camp offers an authentic bush experience in a tranquil destination, well off the beaten track.
Kasaka has two wings to the camp: a cultivated 'tame' side with manicured gardens with a swimming pool and colourful indigenous plants; and a 'wild' side is set in a more natural bush environment and is connected to the lodge by overhead wooden walk ways which allow for the passage of wildlife underneath and within the camp. Kasaka's main living area and bar are nestled among the tamarind trees creating the perfect location to sit and watch the world go by on the river.
Features: 20-bedded camp (8 Classic Tents, the Wild Mango honeymoon tent and the Hippo Pod, which is the family lodge), swimming pool, dining area, bar.Room amenities: These vary depending on whether you are staying in a Classic Tent, the Wild Mango Honeymoon Suite or the Hippo Pod. See descriptions above.
