The Drostdy Hotel was completed in 1806 and was originally the seat of local government for 40 years. Built and designed by the famous French architect Louis Thibault as the "Drostdy" of the district. "Drostdy" is the Dutch word for magistrates court. Restored to it's former splendour by De Oude Meester group in 1977, it plays host to many of the groups priceless antiques and paintings. The Stretch's Court is a complex of mid-19th century cottages with wooden shutters and white-washed walls offering beautiful bedrooms, some with antiques and brass beds.
