Fly overnight from London to Cape Town with
British Airways. (N)
Arrive into Cape Town and transfer to
Protea Hotel President (or similar) for 4 nights. Spend
the rest of the day at leisure or take optional
Morning at leisure. Afternoon tour of Cape Town
including an ascent up Table Mountain on the
cable-car (weather permitting), the Company
Gardens, the South Africa Museum, the Castle
of Good Hope and the vibrant and arty flea
market in Greenmarket Square. (B)
Full-day tour of Cape Point and the peninsula.
Travel along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point,
Clifton and Camps Bay, stopping at lookout
points along this stunning coastline. Continue
the tour to Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak, Cape
Point and the Cape of Good Hope Nature
Reserve before lunch (not included). Continue
to Simon’s Town with its charming Victorian
architecture, a naval base and home to a large
penguin colony at Boulders Beach. The final visit
is to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, renowned
for its beauty and diversity of Cape flora. (B)
Full-day tour of the Cape Winelands. Drive
through through superb mountain ranges,
vineyards and traditional Cape Dutch
homesteads. Stops include Stellenbosch,
Franschhoek and Paarl (time-permitting) and
includes wine tasting. (B)
Depart Cape Town and travel along Route 62.
Stop at the town of Barrydale, a small town
surrounded by the Langeberg mountain range,
for lunch (not included). Continue to Oudtshoorn
– the ‘feather capital of the world’ – and visit a
working ostrich farm for a guided tour. Stay at
Surval Boutique Hotel for one night. (B, D)
Morning tour of the Cango Caves. Drive to Knysna
and spend some time at leisure at the waterfront,
with its boutique shops, cafes and restaurants.
Continue to The Crags near Plettenberg Bay
and take a cruise up the Keurbooms river. Stay 2
nights at Hog Hollow Country House (or similar)
for a 2-night stay. (B, D)
Morning visit to the Elephant Sanctuary, an
opportunity to touch, feed and photograph the
elephants. After lunch (not included), travel to
Plettenberg Bay for a visit to Birds of Eden, the
largest free-flight bird aviary in the world, with
an opportunity to learn about these fascinating
creatures. The rest of the day is at leisure. (B, D)
Drive along the final leg of the Garden Route to
Tsitsikamma National Park, well-known for its
indigenous high forests and dramatic coastline.
Take a walk along the suspension bridge
across the Storms River mouth gorge, which
offers incredible views. Continue towards Port
Elizabeth and stay overnight at Radisson Blu
Port Elizabeth (or similar). (B)
In the morning fly to Johannesburg and
transfer to Protea Hotel Balalaika (or similar)
for a 2-night stay. Afternoon city tour including
the City Hall, Newtown Cultural Precinct and
Maboneng Precinct. Visit the Ghandi Memorial
and the Carlton Centre for a bird’s-eye view of

itself being an abbreviation for ‘South Western
townships’. It is from here that most of the
struggle was fought against the injustices of the
apartheid regime and there are several sites of
historical importance. Enjoy lunch followed by
a visit to the Apartheid Museum, which tells

dominated by the apartheid regime and the
struggles of Nelson Mandela, and others, to

Drive to Hazyview via the scenic Panorama
Route with stops along the way for views of
the 33-km-long gorge of the Blyde River
Canyon. Time and weather permitting, stop at
God’s Window before arriving at Perry’s Bridge
Hollow (or similar) for an overnight stay. (B, D)
Drive to the Kruger National Park, the flagship
of the South African national parks. Stay 2
nights at Honeyguide Tented Safari Camp
(or similar) in the Manyeleti Private Reserve.

Hog Hollow is approximately 18km (15-20 minute drive) from Plettenberg Bay en route to Port Elizabeth. It is located in a private nature reserve, on the edge of an indigenous forest, with views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
The 15 suites have a private deck that overlooks the indigenous Tsistikama forest as well as the 70 hectares of protected land owned by the property. The suites are comfortably appointed including king size beds, fireplaces and hammocks. Decorated in soft earthy tones and adorned with handcrafted artefacts the suites have a distinct African feel.
