To celebrate the release of season one of the award-winning drama television series THE CROWN: SEASON ONE on Blu-ray™, DVD and Platinum Edition Blu-ray™, we've curated a trip to Kenya where you can follow in the footsteps of the British monarchy.
The series begins with a young Princess Elizabeth learning of the death of her father, King George VI, on a state visit to Kenya. The tour begins at Treetops Lodge, where she was staying when she learnt of her succession to the throne in 1952.
Continue to Mount Kenya and stay in the remote Rutundu Cabins, the very place where Prince William proposed to Catherine Middleton, carrying his mother's engagement ring in his backpack! This is followed by a wildlife safari in the Lewa Conservancy, where both Prince William and Prince Harry have spent time either on a gap year or assisting on crucial anti-poaching conservation programmes.
The tour finishes with safari excursions in the Masai Mara. Stay at the Mara Serena Lodge, built on the very site where Prince Charles pitched his tent 46 years ago to witness the renowned migration of wildlife.
