This comprehensive 13-night itinerary focuses on Ethiopia’s most celebrated wildlife areas. Whether it’s the breathtaking escarpments of the Simien mountains or the high alpine scenery of the Sanetti plateau in the Bale mountains, the remote highlands of Ethiopia are home to some of the country’s most iconic landscapes and elusive wildlife. They can be combined with the lower altitude, bird-rich habitats around Lake Langano and Awassa. En route, visit some of the country’s historical highlights, including the Unesco-protected rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, the castle compound of the Gondarian kings, and the sights of the capital, Addis Ababa.
