Fly from London to Addis Ababa on Ethiopian
Arrive in Addis Ababa and transfer to the
Radisson Blu Hotel for a 1 night stay. Afternoon
city tour, including the Ethnographic Museum,
Holy Trinity Cathedral and the Mercato. (L, D)
Drive to Goba in the Bale Mountains, the largest
area of Afro-Alpine habitat in Africa. Stay 4
nights at the Bale Mountain Lodge. (B, L, D)
Days at leisure, or join an optional activity
organised by the lodge. Activities include walks
and guided trips to the Sanetti Plateau or
further afield to the Omar Caves, a spectacular,

Drive to the picturesque Lake Langano, backed
by the Arsi Mountain range with peaks rising to
a height of 4,000 metres. Stay overnight at Hara

This morning depart and drive to Addis via
Lake Ziway. Continue to Addis Ababa and stay
overnight at the Radisson Blu Hotel. In the evening

Fly to Zanzibar. On arrival you will be met and
transferred to the north of the island. Stay 5

Bale Mountain Lodge is a 15-bedroom eco-safari lodge located inside the Bale Mountain National Park. Four rooms are luxury tree houses and the remaining rooms are stone and wooden construction. The lodge is 100% eco friendly with power generated from its own micro-hydro power plant. The living and dining room is open plan with a thatched roof, lined with bamboo. It has a large fireplace and comfortable sofas and armchairs to relax in. Outside, there is a wide wood deck for outside dining, including afternoon tea.
There are numerous activities on offer including safari drives and walks arranged by the lodge. Birdwatching is excellent and the area is one of the top five birdwatching sites in Africa. Hara Langano, close to Lake Langano and surrounded by ancient forest, is a comfortable lodge where you can feel at one with nature. Each room, or gojo as they are known locally, is secluded and many are situated on the lake shore. There are a wide range of activities available from Hara Langano. With abundant birdlife and wildlife within the grounds, guided walks, boat trips, bicycle and horse rides are all possible.
