Where to travel in 2018 …new Cox & Kings journeys
Leading the team responsible for curating Cox & Kings’ range of exciting travel experiences, Nigel Hosking shares his pick of the new journeys for 2018
AFRICA: Kenya & Zimbabwe
Link the natural wonders of the magnificent Victoria Falls with Kenya’s Masai Mara, the home of safari. Witness the spectacle of the migration of over a million wildebeest from July to October – a truly unmissable event. Top it off with three nights in Zimbabwe and a visit to the falls, locally known as ‘the smoke that thunders’.
Kenya & Victoria Falls is available as a non-exclusive group tour ● 13 Days & 11 Nights from £3,540
For 2018 we have significantly increased our offering in Portugal, with two new group tours, together with some private journey options. For such a small country there is huge cultural diversity and a delightful mix of old and new, which makes the country a joy to discover. The medieval hilltop town of Obidos is one of my favourites on our new itinerary (I’ve walked its magnificent ramparts!), but we also include time in Lisbon, Porto and the Douro valley, a cruise along the Douro river and sampling world-renowned port wine.
Grand Tour of Portugal is available as an escorted group tour ● 10 Days & 9 Nights from £1,995
LATIN AMERICA: Costa Rica
In 2018 we will be offering many more Family Adventure tours right across our worldwide programme. For example, the wonderful variety of Costa Rica makes it a fantastic place for families to actively explore, from the nature of the rainforest and stunning sight of Arenal volcano to the gorgeous beaches. Our itineraries can be as active as required, with opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, canopy walks or zip lining.
