About

Louise’s first trip to Africa was spent in Zimbabwe on a 3 month expedition with Raleigh International. She trekked through the Eastern Highlands, canoed on Lake Kariba, hiked Batoka gorge (just below Victoria Falls), and spent 48 hours white water rafting some of the world’s most impressive rapids. With Africa well and truly in her blood, she returned soon afterwards to climb Kilimanjaro, experience her first safari in the baobab paradise of Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park and enjoy the coastal wilderness of Zanzibar (back then there was no electricity on the east coast)! Cycling around Zimbabwe was followed by an overland tour around northern Namibia. After a 7 year stint teaching secondary school Geography, she joined Cox & Kings in 1999, initially as an India Sales Consultant. In 2004, she was appointed as the Africa Product Manager, a role that offers many opportunities to travel with the company. Some of her most memorable experiences include sitting amongst the gelada monkeys of Ethiopia’s Simien Mountains, quad biking across Botswana’s Makgadikgadi salt pans, ballooning over Namibia’s red sand dunes and taking in Rwanda’s incredible landscape, by road.
