Product Manager – India

A vacancy exists for an experienced Product Manager to join the Product Development Team at Cox & Kings Travel.

The Product Manager is responsible for the commercial and operational success of the programme, determining the destinations and itineraries for the annual brochure, negotiating and contracting rates and developing product for the website.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in planning and costing a programme of tours. They will have experience in developing a tour programme, identifying opportunities for growth and delivering year-on-year sales increases. They will be able to select effective suppliers and negotiate competitive tour rates. Applicants must have an ability to plan work effectively and meet deadlines; excellent written and numerical ability; experience in managing a small team and experience in staff training / presentations. They need to be computer literate, with thorough knowledge of Excel and Word. Experience of a CRS is an advantage.

In addition to the management of the product in the Subcontinent, this role will also be responsible for the co-ordination of product to be included in cross-product brochures.

Extensive travel experience within India and the Subcontinent is essential.

Tour Consultant – Far East

An opportunity has arisen for a Tour Consultant to join our sales team. The position will include selling brochure tours as well as designing and costing tailor-made itineraries for independent travel to the Far East. The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of the region gained by relevant travel experience along with a passion to sell the destination.

Good sales techniques and an excellent telephone manner are required. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure whilst maintaining a focus on excellent customer service. Applicants must be computer literate with good writing/keyboard skills. Previous travel sales experience is preferred. The salary is up to £26,400 per year depending on experience.

Combined Buying Group: Head of Contracting – London

Cox & Kings’ Combined Buying Group is seeking a Head of Contracting – London, to join their team based in Millbank, London. The key objective of this role is to lead the Cox & Kings’ combined buying presence into destination London, representing the range of company brands. Drive a successful strategy into the territory which delivers market leading prices & accommodation stock to the group. 

The primary purpose will be the contribution to and implementation of the company strategy into London, executing with excellence to achieve best pricing and maximising availability of room stock. This will include identifying and predicting market trends, capitalising on opportunities to generate additional revenue streams, optimising new and existing supplier relationships, collaborating closely with internal customers in divisional management & product teams to meet & exceed product briefs & KPI’s and lead, manage & motivate direct team members.

Essential requirements include: Experience in accommodation negotiation and hotel sales; previous experience of managing a team; excellent numeracy skills; excellent time management and personal organisation skills; the ability to analyse data and act on trends; the ability to work under pressure towards strict deadlines and targets; excellent oral and written communication skills; fluency in a European language; a full, clean UK driving licence.
