Country Overview

Australia luxury tours

Overview
Australia is a country of rich diversity, full of fascinating history, spectacular scenery and the world's oldest living culture. From the lush rainforest clad islands of the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef, to the majestic Uluru in the barren Red Centre, down to the award-winning vineyards of the south, there is something to capture the imagination of every visitor, whether it be your first or fifth time down under.

What to see

In the southern state of Victoria, complimented with boutique shops and chic cafés, lie the wine growing regions of Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsular. Ideal for a day trip out from Melbourne or a relaxing stay in the countryside. To the southwest of the city is the famous Great Ocean Road, a stretch of highway with breathtaking coastal views and the Twelve Apostle rock formations.

Up the top of Western Australia is The Kimberley, one of the world’s last true wilderness areas and the setting for much of the ‘Australia’ movie. Here you will find red and rugged ranges, spectacular gorges and waterfalls and untouched beaches and coastline.

In the striking Red Centre is a region rich with Aboriginal culture and outback settlements. Highlights include the dramatic Kings Canyon and Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, home to the domed Kata Tjuta rock formations and the remarkable Uluru.

When to go
For the tropical north the best time of the year is from May to September. For all other regions the best time is from October to April.
