The charity Magic Bus was set up by former Cox & Kings employee Mathew Spacie in January 1999 with the goal of giving street children an opportunity to develop through learning more about themselves and their environment. To this end the charity organises various activities including sports and outdoor recreation. The children benefit from the change of environment and the input of highly trained mentors. Magic Bus is currently helping almost 3,500 marginalised children. For 2011 Cox & Kings will be donating £2 for every person who travels to India on a brochure tour to Magic Bus. Magic Bus
Cox & Kings is delighted to be a member of the Travel Operators for Tigers (TOFT) initiative. The organisation has drawn up a code of conduct, which aims to put pressure on ground handlers, lodges and camps to act responsibly with regard to tiger conservation. As part of this initiative, all Cox & Kings' prices for stays in Indian tiger reserves include a donation of £5 per person per night, all of which go directly towards the support of tiger conservation projects. In addition to this, donations can be made directly. TOFT
Cox & Kings is supporting the charity Cool Earth, which partners indigenous communities to keep Amazon endangered rainforest standing. You too can help and every time you travel with Cox & Kings you will be given the option of protecting a plot of rainforest and saving it from destruction. Just £60 safeguards a whole acre of Amazon rainforest in the Ashaninka region of Peru. For more information or to donate please visit www.coolearth.org/coxandkings.
