Frederic Chopin was born near Warsaw 150
years ago. Like Chopin’s richly romantic
music, Poland’s history resonates with
alternate flashes of light and darkness.
This tour visits the composer’s birthplace,
includes a private Chopin recital in one of
Warsaw’s historic palaces and a concert in
its monumental opera house. It also visits all
the principal artistic and historically significant
sites in this re-emerging city. From Warsaw,
travel to Krakow, arguably the most beautifully
preserved city in Poland, and visit the famous
Cloth Hall and Wawel Castle. Sample more
of Poland’s musical heritage and, in a moving
final day, visit the former concentration camp
of Auschwitz and the astonishing salt mines
of Wieliczka.
