Day 1 To Buenos Aires:
Fly to Buenos Aires with British Airways. (N)

Day 2 Buenos Aires:
Arrive and transfer to the Sofitel for 3 nights. Afternoon orientation tour, followed by a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (D)

Day 3 Buenos Aires:
Visit the Tigre District, with its Tudor mansions and French style cafes. Visit the markets and take lunch at one of the islands on the river delta. Evening wine tasting at La Cava del Querandi, with a selection of fine Argentinian wines, followed by dinner in this early 18th century mansion. (B, L, D)

Day 4 Buenos Aires:
Day at leisure. Evening Tango show with dinner at Rojo Tango, one of the city's best locations. (B, D)

Day 5 To Salta:
Fly to Salta, set in the foothills of the Andes in Argentina's traditional northwest region, an area of rugged canyons, gauchos and a growing wine industry. Take a tour of the colonial city and archaeological museum. Stay 2 nights at the Solar de La Plaza. (B)

Day 6 Humahuaca Canyon:
Full day tour to the canyon and the 'Hill of Seven Colours' in Argentina's northernmost province. Visit Purmamarca village and the pre-Hispanic treasures at Tilcara. (B, L)

Day 7 To Estancia Colome:
Take an unforgettable drive into the high Andes, zig-zagging through wild canyons past spectacular lookout points to the Indian town of Cachi. Visit the graceful colonial town of Molinos, with its impressive ancient church and vicuna farm. Stay for 2 nights at the Estancia Colome, the oldest winery in Argentina. (B, L)

Day 8 Calchaqui Valley:
First settled by the Incas, this area is steeped in history. Spend the day at the Bodega Colome winery, the highest vineyard in the world, where ingenious methods are used to cultivate the vines. (B)

Day 9 To Cafayate:
Take another spectacular journey over the mountains, through 'Arrow Canyon' with its sharp granite spires to Cafayate, renowned for its almost constant sunshine and excellent wine estates. Take lunch at Patios de Cafayate Wine Resort, which dates from 1850. Continue to Salta, and stay overnight at Solar de la Plaza. (B, L)

Day 10 To Mendoza:
Fly to Mendoza via Buenos Aires. Mendoza occupies a spectacular position at the foot of the Andes and retains a distinct European feel. Transfer out of the city to Cavas Wine Lodge, and stay for 3 nights in this luxurious and distinctive location. (B, D)

Days 11 - 12 Mendoza Wines:
At leisure at Cavas Wine Lodge. Relax in the beautiful surroundings of the wine estate, or choose from a variety of inclusive excursions, including visits to local vineyards, sightseeing tours or a round of golf. Take lunch in different locations around the vineyards, and evening meals at a choice of restaurants in and around Mendoza. (B, L, D)
