That travel broadens horizons, stimulates the senses and deepens understanding of the world is true for people of all ages. For younger minds though, the sense of revelation is that much greater and the ability to absorb new experiences that much stronger. Cox & Kings’ experts can tailor make natural history holidays that can be enjoyed equally by children and parents, and possibly grandparents too. These are not holidays designed for parents who long to relax on a beach whilst their children are taken off their hands by kids’ clubs. Our aim is to create adventures to be enjoyed as a family that will excite the older and younger members alike.
Creatures and comforts
Whilst our holidays are aimed at those with a sense of adventure and a thirst for discovery, in most cases our accommodation is of a high standard–typically 4 and 5 star. This means that, after the excitements of a day’s activities, your leisure time can be enjoyed in comfortable surroundings, with excellent food and first class service. All the hotels we use are thoroughly researched and selected based on their suitability for families from the point of view of facilities and health and safety issues. However, flexibility is one of the key benefits of Cox & Kings’ holidays and if there are specific hotels you would like to stay in, we would be delighted to make the arrangements.

We recognise that in the internet age it is relatively simple for anyone to book a flight and a hotel online and head off into the world. However, we also recognise that a holiday planned by experts and supported by locals on the ground will not only run more smoothly but will also be more enriching and less stressful than a do–it–yourself journey. They are not only highly informed and enthusiastic but, crucially, they are also adaptable and can adjust the day–to–day activities on the itinerary to suit the interests of your family.
On the move
One of the major issues when travelling as a family is the travelling itself. Flying is never the highlight of a holiday, but we have tried to minimise any discomfort by using the best scheduled airlines and the most direct available routes.
